About

Professional Overview

A focused view of my infrastructure work, proof of work, technical stack and verified credentials. The CV is available here as supporting material, but the site is primarily a knowledge base and engineering journal.

My work sits in the operational layer where systems have to keep running: RHEL, SUSE, Oracle Linux, AIX, lifecycle tooling, HA clustering, virtualisation, Kubernetes platforms, monitoring and automation. I care about clean change windows, repeatable operations, useful observability and troubleshooting that follows evidence instead of assumptions.

Proof of Work

Work Patterns and Technical Evidence

A capability-focused view of the kind of engineering work I do, without exposing private client environments or turning the site into an employment timeline.

Private/internal

Checkmk monitoring plugin development

Custom monitoring scripts and plugins for Linux services, system health and infrastructure-specific operational checks, improving visibility into service state, alert quality and incident response.

Private/internal

Ansible automation workflows

Reusable playbooks, roles/tasks, inventories and validation steps for repeatable Linux administration, patching preparation, health checks and configuration consistency.

Private/internal

Linux lifecycle and patching workflows

Operational workflows for repositories, package state, OS baselines, pre/post-checks, controlled maintenance windows and major upgrade preparation.

Private/internal

HA cluster operations

Cluster health checks, resource placement review, failover behaviour validation, quorum/fencing awareness and service recovery procedures for production HA services.

Private/internal

Kubernetes / Rancher / OKD platform operations

Node lifecycle, RBAC, CNI/CSI, PV/PVC, ingress, namespaces/projects, observability and workload troubleshooting across Kubernetes-style platforms.

Write-up planned

Traefik and reverse proxy service exposure

Service routing, TLS/certificate handling, reverse proxy configuration and controlled exposure patterns for self-hosted and operational services.

Write-up planned

Self-hosted infrastructure / homelab

Hands-on infrastructure practice across Linux, containers, reverse proxying, service monitoring, configuration tracking and practical platform operations.

Private/internal

Git-based infrastructure configuration tracking

Version-controlled Ansible code, Kubernetes manifests, Traefik configurations and operational changes to support reviewability, rollback awareness and repeatability.
